Blacksmith's Shop, Cherrywood

From what I can recall, this was across the road from the store.
This is a black & white photograph of a building in Cherrywood that had been the blacksmith shop. John Petty built the blacksmith shop in 1912 to serve the horses that delivered milk to the trains. From what I can recall, this was across the road from the store.

I believe this building was across from the Gas Station on the property of Picketts house.

FYI..I don't know how long John Petty had his shop in Cherrywood proper, but in 1950 he was on Altona Rd. just north of the 2nd Concession. I spent many hours in his shop helping out as a child.

Colin ... Cherrywood station was built in 1911-1912, put up on the east side of Alton road, south of the tracks. John Petty built a blacksmith shop there about 1912 to serve the horses which brought the milk to the trains.
