Local Scrapbook

came across this scrapbook that is primarily about Brougham, but had some interesting information about many of the small towns and villages in Pickering.
There is some interesting census information from the 1800's. There is also information about how many of the towns and villages got their name, as well as some other information on the origins of other locations throughout Pickering.
This scrapbook is a collection of hand written articles, newspaper clippings, photographs, etc. primarily Brougham, and was compiled by Mrs. T.G. Norton (1944-1951) and Mrs. George Gray (1951-1982) and the Brougham chapter of the Women's Institute.
The original scrap book consists of 144 pages.
