Rouge Toll Gate

his is a photo of the Toll between Toronto and the Rouge. This toll gate was part of Kingston road when it was a toll road from Toronto to the Rouge in 1843-1844. The road was made of planks and was not gravel until 1860. Through this toll, the Rouge Hills were graded and improved.
