Phyllis Cockburn ( Gates )
Phyllis Cockburn ( Gates ) passed away last fall --a heart attack after a long fight against cancer. She was the daughter of Len Gates, sister of Wilmot who owned the farm south of the Pilkey farm. Phyllis went to public school at Cherrywood, continuation school at Pickering and high school at Whitby. She graduated in nursing from Wellesley hospital and practiced nursing at that hospital untill retirement at age 65

Larry Thanks for posting the story and obituary for Phyllis. . She was an outstanding student and athlete, a devoted wife and mother, very succesful in her profession. She was a well respected person in the Cherrywood community and by her many friends and relatives. Bob Morrish, West Vancouver B.C. and also raised in Cherrywood
